Udayana

Here in the presence of the poet, the rehersals of his creations, his plays, dance drama were held. Literary sessions,meetings and conventions were regularly held here.The walls were covered with cool enviroment friendly matting made out of cane. It was on the veranda of this house,the last birthday of Gurudev was celebrated. Incidentally, it was from this house, he set out for his treatment in Calcutta on 25July,1941 and never returned. The Rabindra-Museum was first housed in this building. So this house is a house of memories.
